I recently bought a thinkpad E15 G2, with AMD Ryzen 7 4700U processor, 16GB RAM and 512 SSD.
I use it as my main computer and installed Fedora 32 on it right after unboxing (windows only booted once on this machine)
The system is running fine, all my applications are working well:
- Docker installation: https://fedoramagazine.org/docker-and-fedora-32/
- Nextcloud client synchronized with my nextcloud docker container
- Boinc manager to check the progress of my boinc docker containers
- watching my jellyfin or plex videos in firefox (for those having a s4032 error, look at /plex-error-s4032/
I have a problem like all other E15 G2 owners running linux: the function keys are working only after suspending the computer. See this discussion on Lenovo forum. It looks like a BIOS problem but upgrading the computer BIOS to the latest version (1.08) does not solve the issue. It is a minor issue to me.
As the E15 G2 has an IR camera, I am trying to have Howdy working to experiment facial recognition on Linux, but not successful until now.
